Troubleshooting
General
OSX / macOS says that the CV Toolkit application is damaged:
- This is a false flag caused by OSX / macOS's GateKeepr feature.
For more information about how to fix this issue, check out the How to Install section of the manual.
The CV Toolkit app opens but the application window doesn't show up (in macOS / OSX):
- Make sure that the application is named "CV Toolkit" without any prefixes or suffixes. Changing the application name may results in issues as stated in the How to Install section of this manual.
CV Toolkit is not generating any signal:
- Check your Audio Settings and make sure DSP is turned on. To verify if CV Toolkit's processing is enabled, route the output of an LFO (or any other module) to one of the Utility Rack inputs (Rack 1-4 on the Routing Matrix) and check to see if the signal shows up on the oscillocope.
CV Toolkit seems to be generating signals but they are not being outputed via my audio interface / ES module:
- Make sure that the Output Channel in the Audio Settings is set correctly.
I can't get CV Toolkit to work with my ES-8 on Windows:
- CV Toolkit currently has problems with the latest 4.11 version of the ES-8 driver for Windows. We recommend downgrading to the previous 3.40 version which should work correctly.

Calibration & MIDI to CV
I can't get CV Toolkit to properly calibrate my oscillator:
-
In order to troubleshoot this problem, make sure you're monitoring the output of your modular (via your audio interface's software or a DAW).
-
If you can hear the pitch of the oscillator change but the calibration line looks like a straight horizontal line, check to make sure that the Input Channel of the Notes module is set correctly.
-
If the pitch of the oscillator remains constant after you hit calibrate, make sure that the output of the Notes module is properly routed to the 1v/oct input of your oscillator. It's also a good idea to check if the Output Channel is set correctly and DSP is turned on.
-
If nothing seems to happen after you click calibrate, verify if DSP (in the Audio Settings tab in the Sidebar) is turned on.
I've successfully calibrated my oscillator but I can't play it using MIDI:
- To use MIDI to control your oscillator via the Notes module, make sure that you've set the Notes module to receive Pitch information from one of the Pitch Bus channels.
CV Toolkit listens to incoming MIDI notes and distribute their Pitch and Gate information to the Internal CV Buses according to the selected Voice Mode.
